House fire on Rosedale Court

On Sunday January 3 at 126 PM Towamencin VFC was alerted to a house fire on Rosedale Court in the Morgandale Development. The homeowner had heard loud noises in her home then saw fire and smoke on the first floor. She made an immediate 9-1-1 call and evacuated the home. 

Arriving Towamencin Police found smoke pouring from the roof eaves and evacauted nearby attached homes.  The Battalion Chief reported the fire already through the roof as he arrived at 131 PM.

Firefighters from Hatfield, Souderton and North Penn assisted at the scene. The fire had caused extensive damage to the second floor and roof areas hampering firefighter’s attempts to go inside. 

Lansdale Volunteer Medical Service Corps provided medical aid and assistance on scene, Upper Salford Fire Company provided coverage in Towamencin during the incident. 

Fortunately no one was injured and the fire was contained to the original home.Towamencin Deputy Fire Marshal Andrew Gerth, County, and State Police Fire investigators are conducting an investigation. At this time the cause appears to be accidental.
